We had a fun birthday celebration that started with delicious goodness of chicken tikki masala and naan and then rice pudding at Rice to Riches with friends. The pudding came in lots of fun flavors and the texture wasn't as bad as I thought it might be :)
Afterward, we walked down to Little Italy through a street fair. The vendors like to take a sales approach that goes a little something like this:
Vendor: "$5 to try and win your lady this teddy bear"...
Steven: "No, thank you"....
Vendor: "Come on, she's not worth $5!?"
Oh no they didn't. Now we're talking about the value of a woman. I laugh at this because I imagine it works quite often, appealing to the emotional needs of women and the pride of men. We had a similar instance at the subway stop by Yankee Stadium over a pink Yankees hat.
Too bad the people didn't realize it wasn't the lady's birthday, it was the gentleman's—
and thus, he's the one who gets the presents.
We finished up the night getting off at the wrong subway stop in a frantic mess (yep, the doors may or may not have closed on one or two of us), but we made it home and are sure thankful for friends and birthdays (especially the birth of the handsome boy we were celebrating).
Looks so fun except for the getting stuck in the subway doors part...I love your new purse too!

ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA! "Win your lady this teddy bear!"? I know it's rude but I wouldn't have been able to not laugh. And Rice to Riches!? That's where Sarah Milas (Eva Mendes) and her friend are eating after the disastrous wave runner/Ellis Island date in Hitch! Hahaha!
