Spring in NYC

And so we begin. We hopped on a red-eye flight and drove into the city as the sun came up. It was fitting— to start our adventure here with a new day.

After a quick nap and an orientation meeting at the International House, we set out to find the best route to Steven's internship. This involved the two of us disagreeing on the subway about where to get off, prompting a smiling old man to walk over and give us his subway map. This was like wearing the "cone of shame".  I didn't want to look like a tourist. Although it was ridiculously helpful.

Luckily we found our way there AND our way back home. Applause. My family knows how geographically challenged I am. And some of the good people of New York are aware of this fact too.
The burning pride and sense of accomplishment I feel every time I make it to my desired destination makes me laugh.

Now that I have my camera charger (I had left it out west) and we both have a little navigational experience, the city is ours.
