The New York Landmarks Society was having a Sacred Sites Open House yesterday throughout the state. We had the opportunity to visit one of the largest Jewish Synagogues, Temple Emanu-El. Our guide was telling us it was built and actually opened a week before the stock market crash. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty and detail.
