We walked through Columbus Circle, known in our family as the place in August Rush where the guy is supposed to meet the girl but she never shows.
The park was filled with musicians, some performing trying to earn money and others just jamming with their buddies. One fellow had a piano in the middle of the walkway. Talent overflows onto the sidewalks in this city.
I really wanted a treat from a bakery or a smoothie and in the midst of that quest we found Pop's in Brooklyn. It had an old diner feel, wasn't too crowded and the food smelled sooo good. Our shakes were fantastic so we will be back.
This has to be one of our favorite things about New York— stumbling upon new places that exceed our expectations and feel like our own "discovery". It keeps us walking, looking and excited for what is around the corner.
