If it is possible for two people to fall more in love, and more in love with a story, it happened Monday night when the curtain went up and they started singing, carrying the banner, and dancing with their newspapers.
We had been talking about this night even before we flew over the skyscrapers and and set our two-suitcases-each down on our dusty apartment floor.
During the show, we would lean over to each other and comment on the plot, and the songs- oh, the songs! It took every ounce of self control not to stand up in our seats and burst into "Seize the Day" or do our own rendition of Jack Kelly's interpretive number for "Sante Fe".
To top off the night we went to Junior's for cheesecake, of which we had leftovers the next morning for breakfast. Can I get a good morning?
Oh yes, it was.
and Monday was a good night.
